How make your BOSS Happy? How to make your EMPLOYEE Happy?

Being in the middle of the Employer and Employee I have already have some idea what an Employer expects from and Employee and how to make them happy. In return I do have some point which Employer should see from Employees end to make them happy.

First let’s see how you can make your Boss Happy?

During your earliest few weeks of your job possibly you may have felt like a fresher again.. dreadfully uncertain of how you are going to do well in the new environment. This can be a bit complicated with Employers who are not really straight forward about what they really desire of you.  I am very sure that you know that you are supposed to come to work on time. What else?? Any idea? I am very sure that you will have least few questions with you such as;
  • What will differentiate you from your other colleges?
  • What will guarantee that you will get rewards and promotions?
  • What will keep your boss pleased and out of the way?
Being open hearted and simply asking your employee his/her expectation is a one way of knowing what they really wishes from you. Some employers may tell you all of their expectations but this might be a real fast run out. Some may not be able to express their full expectation as it is. This is why you should be aware of some general expectations of most of the employers.

To make your boss happy initially you need to be a great team player. Successful project is always the team’s effort. You should be always good in working with a miscellaneous group of people.

Then you should be able to be a person who can get the ball rolling alone which means someone who doesn’t have to be behind or asked twice to do something and who can generate new ideas and actually benefit the company.

Next is you should be an all-a-rounder. What does this mean? This means your skills should not be narrow to just to match the position which you handle.

You should always try to be a person who can perform variety of odd jobs with ease and enthusiasm and willing to learn from your mistakes.

Same time you should be able to “GO WITH THE FLOW”, which means simply you need to be flexible. You should not stand on the hours which were specified on your letter of appointment.

Last but not least... Good command of language should be always there. Always try to say something worthwhile to the company.

Now I/you might not have all these qualities which is a rare case but these are the point which you can try on and which worked out for me. Not many people are able to walk into their new work environment and blow everyone’s mind. People always have to live up to another person’s expectations at work. Your main focus should be on doing your job and doing it well.

As you attempt to meet and exceed your employer’s expectations, you’re going to grow in more ways than one. You’ll be a better team player, go-getter, communicator, multifaceted, and flexible person. You’ll also, hopefully, be a model employee of your boss.

So that’s the side I see on Employer which we call OUR BOSS... now let’s see how a BOSS can male their EMPLOYEE happy??
You recruited your employees. No one else. You made the final decision on that this guy will make my day!! So initial thing should happen from your end should be TRUST YOUR EMPLOYEE.. This will make a great bond between the Employer and the Employee.  My dear BOSSES there are lots of reasons why an employee will love his/her job. Did u know that a happy job with make a happy person. Happy person will make a happy life which in return will be a success to your own office/company.
The basic way of creating happy employees is to make sure that they know exactly what they are supposed to do in order to achieve success in their position and exactly how they are supposed to do it. Having a documented proper process of work allocation is a great way of directing them to success. The managers should support by helping you provide the vision, structure and tools which employees need to succeed. The manager should be a person who is a real person relationship builder with your employees who grab information from your employees on their development. This relationship should be built in a way that reinforces the employees’ positive insight of themselves.
It nice to have a system that honours employee’s milestones such as birthdays, the day they join the company etc. This will make the employee a part of your organizational family.

You may create a system for presenting employees with awards, rewards and promotions for their valued contribution. If you not willing to make is reward physically at least try your best to appreciate open hearted in front of the staff which will motivate the employee to keep up the good work. Same time you may create space for your employee to attend workshops where they can build up their knowledge.

Your employee is carrying out a real stressful job for you all days of the week. To make them relaxed and feel free and have innovative thinking you may organize company sponsored events such as trips, company outings, company parties etc. Same time you may celebrate special festival which come through the year’s calendar. Assess your holiday schedule and consider increasing the number of holidays your business honours or create company holidays when appropriate. This will make your employee feel that you concern about the good or bad they go through the office all day. They will be motivated to give away other than keeping to them selves.

When you put your attention and your intention to creating and retaining happy employees, there is no end to the possibilities that may present themselves to you. It is worth your consideration, not just during this time of year, but all year round because having happy employees and showing them your appreciation will pay off in the quality and commitment they bring to making your entrepreneurial dream a reality.

Final Reminder the BOSSES: Be a father/mother to your employees, smile every day, blast them when you have to, forget all of it after that..Do at least one joke to your employees and laugh once a day.. You will make your and their day...

Are you on Job Hunt? Do you feel Unsuccessful and Unfulfilled? I presume I can give you hints which made me successful...

I also think that job interviews are nerve-wracking and tear-inducing in the same way you do. My goodness they are.  All in all, making a job interview fall under the “successful” category takes preparation and commitment. You already know that you have work real hard to get where you are and that you are looking for improvement in your career.  And same time also you know the situation on job market. Might have sent 100s of resumes and you might have taken all the right steps that you can take. After waiting for Months and Years suddenly your mobile rings and it says “Yes, we'd like you to come in for an interview. Is next Tuesday at 10:00 alright with you?”

Now where are you going to initiate? First you need to know your resume very well. Sure that you know by your heart. Re-examine your resume being the person who is going to interview you. Then Visit this particular company website (if they have any) and take note about them such as Corporate information, Press Releases etc. Gather as much as information you can.

Okay now here comes the real challenge. Now the first Question comes to you is “How should I dress? And what should I dress for this interview”.
  • If you are a boy then the best outfit should be a light colour Shirt with black Trousers.
  • For Ladies is a two piece skirt/trouser suit, preferably in a darker or neutral colour. Black, navy, or gray are best. The top always should be a blouse with three quarter or long sleeves. Let's talk about earrings.
  • Many women have pierced ears. For your job interview, wear one simple pair of small earrings. If you have more than one set of holes, leave them empty. If you have any other visible piercings, do not put any jewellery in them. They do not look professional.
  • If you are a guy, leave all of your earrings at home if you want the job.
  • Men, get a haircut and a shave before a job interview.
  • Men, make sure you are wearing Socks and Shoes that match your Pants. For instance, do not show up in white Socks with black Shoes/Pants.
  • Ladies, wear good neutral heels. Nothing fancy, just a dark, medium heeled that goes with your outfit. Make sure your purse/handbag matches your shoes. Black is always a great idea because it goes with most things.
There you go.. you are all ready to go... Now, arrive about 15 minutes early for your interview. Do not chew gum or suck on a mint or eat candy. Just sit and relax and wait. Say a pleasant “Hello” to the receptionist but offer nothing more. Anything you say can and probably will be used against you. When the interviewer comes and introduces herself or himself, stand and give her/him a firm handshake as you introduce yourself. Do not grab him/her too much. Be very warm and friendly. Just imagine you're meeting an old friend from high school. Remember: First impressions are really key.

Now time to show your colours.. Really listen to the person who interviews you. People love to talk about themselves. Get the interviewer to do most of the talking. Respond to what they say. Make the interviewer feel important by complimenting him or her. Everyone has an ego. IF the interviewer comes in to personal relationship building start grabbing his information as well. This will make a bond between the two parties. Talks open hearted. Don’t let them feel that you are hiding information. Laugh together. Laughter in the interview will help you land the job. But never go beyond the limit. Don’t even think of arguing. This will help them to come in a decision as you are short tempered.

Same time you have to really concentrate on the language. True the used language might not be your first language. But try to avoid using poor language. Same time you need to have high confidence and energy level. Don’t ever show you’re desperate for this job. Don’t ever lie. Answer questions truthfully, frankly and succinctly. And don't over-answer questions. Last but not least ask at least few important questions back from them at the end of the interview.

Say "Thank you." Show them you appreciate their time. People want to feel valued. When you're done, ask yourself: "Was this just an interview, or did I start a relationship here?"

One last reminder: How ever you face the interview "Don't forget to smile"

After the job interview is over, you still have some work to do. Send a note or e-mail to thank the interviewer for his or her time and consideration, and let them know that if they need any further information, that you are happy to provide it. It will show them that you are really excited about the position. If they have interviewed many applicants, then following up like this will set you apart from the pack.

Have you ever felt Unproductive... Then Manage your Time...

Do you ever felt that the 24 hours is not enough? Have you ever felt yourself unorganized? Then I guess I can give you some tips...

Possibly you may have a heavy workload and may be you want to find ways to become more effective and efficient so you can get more things get done in less amount of time. Maybe you feel plagued or “stressed out” and want to find ways to do less and enjoy more. Or maybe you purely want to feel more focused and in having power over of your time, instead of feeling like you rush madly from one to the next until you fall into bed pooped every night.

Time management is a set of principles or practices working together to help us get more value out of our time with the aim of improving the quality of our life. The important point is that time management is not essentially about getting lots of work done, because much more important than that is making sure that we are working on the right things, the things that truly need to be done. Elegant time managers know that there is much more to do than anyone could possibly complete. So instead of trying to do it all, they are very picky about how they spend their time. They decide to focus and use their time doing a few critical things that will really make a diversity, rather than killing all their time doing many unimportant things that don't really matter all that much.

Time management comes down to choices. Superior choices lead to superior results, while deprived choices lead to washed out time and energy. The good news is that time management skills can be learned and mastered by anyone. All it takes is practice and dedication. Like any other skill, you can learn time management the easy way or you can learn it the hard way. The hard way usually involves years of trial and error and lots of false starts trying to figure out what works and what doesn't.

Does this make sense to you?

Now let’s see how can we manage our time? Initially you need to have a habit of writing things down. A frequent mistake made by any person is trying memorizing too much information. To maintain a TO DO list, write things down is a great way to take control and keep you organized. Then you need to prioritize your TO DO list, important things on top and rest comes next. Spend some time beginning of each day to plan your schedule for the day. This will increase productivity and balance your workload. One of the most important thing is that you should learn to say “NO”. Most of the times you get overloaded with work because you are over committed. Learn to say no to low priority requests but keep them noted and you will free up time to spend on things that are more important. How many times have you said yes to something you later regretted? Before committing to a new task, stop to think about it before you give your answer. This will prevent you from taking on too much work.

Next step is to identify your own bad habits. Make a list of bad habits that are stealing your time, sabotaging your goals, and jamming your success. After you do, work on them one at a time and systematically eliminate them from your life. Remember that the easiest way to eliminate a bad habit, it to replace it with a better habit. If you can’t manage your own time DO NOT DO OTHER PEOPLE’S WORK. DO NOT TRY TO BE A HERO FOR OTHERS, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR SENSES END OF THE DAY!! Last thing which I have for you is avoid “Efficiency Traps” which means; being efficient doesn’t inevitably mean that you are being productive. Avoid taking on tasks that you can do with efficiency that don’t need to be done at all. Just because you are busy and getting things done doesn’t mean you are actually accomplishing anything significant.

Client Phycology & How to get Client's Attention on your Supplies

Making a contract is an art. It is art because you need to use all your thoughts, comedy, intelligence, humour, acquaintance, to make the person sign the agreement. Some people do it perfectly; sometimes it even seems that these persons have some kind of the business ability to convince people in something. But it is hard to find such person and it is really hard to make the deal to get more income than expenses. And other people who work in this sphere have to follow some system. The first minutes of the meeting with clients don't talk about your supplies and your services. Remember, nobody is interested in how perfect you are until they realise what good things you tell about yourself or until they are convinced enough that you can make it work. You need to wrestle with the craving to get to the advertising of your services or goods.

Forget about how many times you had to tell a person what good your services and supplies are. Instead try to explain the buyer why s/he needs your goods or services. And to do that you must ask questions. Show the curiosity to your client. Ask them about goods and services s/he gives. Find out what s/he wants. And don't use too complicated words that sometimes may be even unknown to the client. Talk with the client as if s/he was your friend and you wanted to persuade him/her to come to visit you. And only when you found out the necessities of the client you can start to propose services and goods you have. But at first only mention about them

Website Usability

What is Usability?

For an instance picture that you went to an unknown city, where you kept getting lost, couldn’t find out where to go and couldn’t find any one to ask for help. Would you still want to spend time there? Or would you want to get the heck out of there and go somewhere else which you can travel and enjoy? This is the same for websites as well.

To create websites that the users understand we have to understand the users and how they think. First-class "usability" is about manipulating things so that they make sense to the people who use them. The communication that users have with a thing should meet their needs and wants as elegantly as possible -- whether it's a Web site or a Software System. If it doesn't, they will not want to use it. Of course, usability isn't the only consideration. However, usability can build or fracture the sensation of your site. Sadly, spending time and money doing usability work is sometimes a difficult task, because people don't tend to notice the implementation of usability concepts, only the lack of them.

User Cantered Development is a viewpoint and a method. It is a viewpoint that places the person at the centre; it is a process that focuses on cognitive factors such as perception, memory, learning, problem-solving, etc.) as they come into play during peoples' interactions with things. Let’s see what we have to concern when developing user cantered websites. Guidelines can provide a general idea about the users and what they want. But this is not sufficient to develop a enormous website. You need to occupy users from the beginning by discovering their mental modes, using them as the important part of the design, observing them, validating your assumptions and imaginations and feedback through them. You need to ask questions from the users as much as possible regarding their requirements. You need to watch and act together with the users imaginations. You should not attend to the final design so soon. Explore different designs and approaches.

Remember, assessment occurs at every step of the process to keep the goals of the website and the users’ needs in focal point. And if it comes down to a alternative, don’t sacrifice usability; reduce the span of the project instead.

The Importance of Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is the process of propagation of your site or business through social media and it is a powerful strategy that will get you links, attention and huge amounts of traffic. There is no other low-cost promotional method out there that will easily give you large numbers of visitors, some of whom may come back to your website again and again. If you are selling products/services or just publishing content for ad income, social media marketing is a potent method that will make your site profitable over time. Those who ignore the effectiveness of social media usually fall into three categories; the ones who don’t know much or anything about social media, the ones who are involved but don’t know how to use it and those who don’t believe in the value that a social media strategy can bring to any site or business.

If I talk about the value of marketing through social media, let’s take a look at the advantages of it. Creating and getting it admired on various social media web sites will lead to multiple benefits for any website or web product. There are 2 types of traffic which a website can have. Primary traffic is the massive amount of visitors who come directly from social media websites. Secondary traffic is traffic which transfers from websites which link to and sends you visitors, after they get to know your content through the social sites. Becoming popular on social websites will get you a large number of links, some of which may be applicable, some not. A good story can realistically acquire a large number of high quality editorial links, most of which cannot be easily bought.

Why worry exploring social media as a marketing guide for your business? After all, you could stick to link exchanges, search advertising or the purchase of banner and editorial ads on relevant sites. One reason is, its pretty ordinary. You get expected links without any apparent pattern; your website is exposed to large groups of people in a impulsive fashion. This differs from paid advertising which has overt commercial overtones. Once successfully mastered, social communities can be a great source of web traffic on top of any traffic you are already receiving from search engines. While you can’t easily increase your search engine traffic, social media traffic can be very easily controlled through strategic marketing.

Now, this is the fantasy which I see in Social Media....

Dedicating to my Loving Mother...

Mother's Day is celebrated to honour all mothers and express gratitude for the hardships they bear in bringing up a child. Most countries including US, Australia, Canada and India celebrate Mothers Day on the second Sunday of May. Mothers Day came into being due to the efforts made by Ms Julia Ward Howe and Ms Anna Jarvis. The Resolution for having a dedicated Mother's Day was signed by US President Woodrow Wilson on May 8, 1914. Since then people across the world have been celebrating Mothers Day with joy and devotion.

Being a Mother what I feel about my Mother is she is wise and always right. We all know this by our heart and by the experience. For, we have all grown up on the wisdoms and advice of our Mothers. Some of these advices, rather lessons remain with us forever and keep guiding us.

When I was young and in the age of dating men, my mom always told me to watch how my boyfriends treated their mothers. She said they would treat me the same way to myself too. I found this to be so true. I have a husband who thought the world of his mom and shows that same love to me and my one and only daughter as well where I can be very proud when I think of the best advice I ever got from my mother is saving my happiness of each and every day. It's the best advice my mom ever gave me.
Her love is like
an island in life's ocean,
vast and wide
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the wind, the rain, the tide.
'Tis bound on the north by Hope,
By Patience on the West,
By tender Counsel on the South
And on the East by Rest.
Above it like a beacon light
Shine Faith, and Truth, and Prayer;
And thro' the changing scenes of life
I find a haven there.

Social Media in Plain English (Youtube)

Hi Guys... while going through social media stuff I came across this cool and simple explanation video on You Tube.

The Month "May" Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's political parties were holding May Day rallies on Saturday for the first time since the ending of nearly four decades of ethnic bloodshed.

Nearly a dozen meetings were scheduled in the capital and suburbs, but labour day celebrations by opposition parties were low-key following their drubbing in two major elections this year.

Previous May Day celebrations in Sri Lanka had been marred by attacks blamed on Tamil Tiger rebels, who were militarily crushed by security forces last year after 37 years of guerrilla war.

Suspected Tamil Tiger rebels launched a suicide bomb attack in 1993 during a ruling party May Day rally and assassinated then president.

Opposition officials said their celebrations this year were muted as supporters recover from crushing defeats at the January presidential elections and last month's parliamentary polls won by current President ruling the party.

May is one of the special months for Buddhists..This is one of the major festivals in Sri Lanka. It is celebrated on the first full moon day of the month of May[citation needed]. People engage in religious observances and decorate houses and streets with candles and specially made lanterns.

Vesak Day is one of the biggest days of the year in the Buddhist calendar and is celebrated by Buddhists all over the world. The day marks the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha and is a day of great celebrations. It is traditional to clean the home and decorate it in preparation for the celebrations which begin before dawn and continue throughout the day with religious services, prayer meetings, meditation sessions and processions.
